Job Descriptions:

 

 

1. Behavioral Specialist Services (BSS) -

 

Duties and Credentials

BSS provides specialized interventions that assist a participant to increase adaptive behaviors to replace or modify challenging behaviors of a disruptive or destructive nature that prevent or interfere with the participant’s inclusion in home and family life or community life. (Master’s degree)

 

 

2. Systematic Skill Building (SSB)-

 

Duties and Credentials

SSB uses evidence-based methods to help the participant acquire skills that promote independence and integration into the community, which may or may not be behavioral in focus. While SSB develops a Skill Building Plan (SBP) based on the participant’s goals, the person providing SSB is not the only primary implementer of that Plan. (Bachelor’s Degree)

 

3. Community Inclusion (CI)-

 

Duties and Credentials

Community Inclusion assists participants in acquiring, retaining, and improving communication, socialization, self-direction, self-help, and other adaptive skills necessary to reside in the community. Community Inclusion facilitates social interaction; use of natural supports and typical community services available to all people; and participation in education and volunteer activities. (High school Diploma, Experience Preferred)

 

 

4. Therapy-

Duties and Credentials

These services are provided by healthcare professionals (Licensed Psychiatrist, Licensed Psychologist, LCSW, LMFT, and LPC). The need for the service must be evaluated at least annually as part of the ISP process. This evaluation must include determining if the participant continues to require the current level of services and if the service continues to help the participant. (Master’s Degree and Licensure)

 

 

 

5. Companion Services-

 

Duties and Credentials

 

Companion Services are provided to individuals living in private residences for the limited purposes of providing supervision and necessary care and minimal assistance that is focused solely on the health and safety of the adult individual (18 years of age

and older) with mental retardation and or autism. Companion Services are used in lieu of habilitation services to protect the health and welfare of the individual when a habilitative outcome is not appropriate or feasible (that is, when the individual is not learning, enhancing, or maintaining a skill). This service can be used for asleep hours when only supervision or non-medical or non-habilitative care is needed to protect the safety of the individual with IDD and or autism. (High school Diploma, Experience Preferred)

 

6. Respite Services in Home-

 

Duties and Credentials

 

These respite services that are provided to supervise and support individuals living in private homes on a short-term basis for planned or emergency situations, giving the person(s) normally providing care a period of relief that may be scheduled or due to an emergency. (High School Diploma, Experience Preferred).

 

7. Cognitive Rehabilitation-

 

Duties and Credentials

 

Cognitive rehabilitation therapy services focus on the attainment/re-attainment of cognitive skills. The aim of therapy is the enhancement of the participant’s functional competence in real-world situations. The process includes the use of compensatory strategies and use of cognitive orthotics and prostheses. Services include consultation, ongoing counseling, and coaching/cueing. (Master’s Degree).

 

 

8. Veteran Services-

 

Duties and Credentials

Veteran  Services are aimed at assisting the individual to complete tasks of everyday living.  Therapy for PTSD, MST, Mental Health, Housing, Peer Support, Sober Living Housing, and referrals for vet centers are available. (Master’s Degree or above and Licensure; LPC, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW)

9. Individual and Group Therapy-Duties and Credentials-

Duties and Credentials

Counselors offer guidance to individuals, couples, families and groups who are dealing with issues that affect their mental health and wellbeing.  Counsels individuals or groups regarding psychological or emotional problems such as substance abuse, family conflict, grief and loss, psychological disorders. (Master’s Degree or above and Licensure; LPC, LMHC, LMFT, LCSW)

10. Home and Community Habilitation-

Duties and Credentials

Home and Community Habilitation is a direct service provided in home and community settings to assist individuals in acquiring, maintain, and improving self-help, domestic, socialization, and adaptive skills in the home and community which includes self-care, communication, fine and gross motor skills, mobility, therapeutic activities, personal adjustment, relationship development and use of community resources.  (High School Diploma and mandated trainings)

Qualifications of Contracted Staff (Staff Requirements):

Any potential staff must provide to RCC the following copies in PDF file:

· Valid Driver’s License/State ID (if you do not own a vehicle)

· Social Security Card (to verify identity and conduct Medicare/Medicaid fraud check mandated by the state)

· PA background check/FBI check/Child Abuse Clearance (within one year or 60 days for BSS staff)

· Current Resume (indicating experience at least 2 years with Intellectual Disability Disorders and or Autism)

· Current/Valid Vehicle Registration/Insurance if applicable (if you own/use a vehicle and will be transporting participants in your vehicle.

· Certificate of First Aid/CPR certification

· Current physical (within 1 one year) and proof of TB shot and results

· High School Diploma/any degrees held

· Any certifications relevant to the field

· Proof of Spectrum training (register on Myodp.org) for Free Training ONLINE

· If applying for BSS services (under AAW Waiver) proof of trainings (BSS 101 and 102), Positive Behavioral Training, and FBA training,

  FBA Training is face to face in house training 12 hours. RCC contracts training at a discounted price if needed.

· Direct Care Training (if providing care under OLTL waiver – register on Myodp.org) for Free Training ONLINE
