Olugbenga Oyesanmi, MD, MPH

DR. OLUNGBENGA OYESANMI is the Physician of RCC. Dr. Oyesanmi is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, with a Bachelors of Biochemistry, a graduate of The Wharton School/University of Pennsylvania with a Post Baccalaureate Degree in Marketing, a graduate of Drexel University with a Masters Degree in Public Health and a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University School of Medicine with a Doctor of Medicine Degree of Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Oyesanmi has also completed 1 year of psychiatric residency training at Albert Einstein Hospital.
Dr. Oyesanmi is a trained physician with ECFMG certification, strong background in evidence- based practice, behavioral and mental health, substance abuse counseling, working with individuals within the criminal justice system, public health, and health marketing. He is a Pennsylvania Department of corrections volunteer re-entry motivational speaker, mentor’s ex-offenders in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole/Project Safe neighborhood to provide referral assistance and encourage to set goals, find jobs and utilize social services.
Dr. Oyesanmi has participated at the Pennsylvania’s first re-entry Mental Health Court since 2015. He uses Pennsylvania Client Placement Criteria (PCPC) to ensure that a client is placed in the appropriate level of care. Dr. Oyesanmi’s knowledge of federal and state statues pertaining to confidentiality guidelines as required to release drug and alcohol information. He understands the welfare and Medicare and Medicaid systems. Dr. Oyesanmi also has an extensive background in performing intakes, assessments and Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Evaluations (CBE) and Comprehensive Biopsychosocial Re-Evaluation (CBR).
Dr. Oyesanmi is highly knoweldgable of reentry support services and currently participates in the reentry mental health court system at the Criminal Jistice Center in Philadelphia and at the Federal reentry court of the US Court of Apeals for the 3rd Circuit.
Dr. Oyesanmi is currently a member of PBPP Citizens Advisory Committee. He is also a member of Philadelphia Reentry Coalition providing guidance in various subgroups (Community Engagement Stakeholders, Juveniles sentenced to Life Without Parole, Health Management, and Research & Data).
Dr. Oyesanmi has expertise as lead author in numerous peer review publications and research projects, providing medical and business guidance to colleagues to accomplish challenging team objectives. He has demonstrated strong leadership and initiation and implementing key projects. Dr. Oyesanmi has the ability to work under pressure an apply principles of good publication practice. He has proven strong communication and interpersonal skills.
